About
What is Progress park?
Progress Park is a 12 acre hidden gem of nature, nestled right in the city limits of Louisville, KY. It’s the perfect place to get away, relax and unwind, without having to drive too far. It’s a private property that can be visited by reservation only. We have options for overnight stays, or many options for customizing your next event. 2 vintage airstream campers and a Lakehouse that are available for nightly rentals.
Where is it?
The most amazing thing about Progress Park is that it feels like you’ve escaped far away into the great outdoors, yet you’re still inside the city limits. Our property is conveniently located less than 10 miles from Churchill Downs, the Kentucky Expo Center and downtown Louisville. Its just a couple miles from the Highlands neighborhood, so if you’re up for shopping, a nice dinner or a yoga class, it’s just down the road. And if you’re stocking up for your week of camping, its also only about a mile from the many conveniences such as Costco, Kroger, Target, Walmart and Starbucks. Whether you drive yourself, or catch an Uber or Lyft, you’re just minutes away from all the fun that Derby City has to offer.
About the Owners
Hey Ya’ll! We’re the Pifers & McDowells. We’re long time friends with a couple of campers and a dream, that just happened to blossom into something incredibly unique.
Both of our families are passionate about travel, design, camping and the outdoors, and when we discovered this property, we began envisioning how to incorporate all those things into one unique experience unlike anything Louisville’s ever seen.
You will most likely meet one or all of us during your stay or event at Progress Park. Whether it’s Mike or Nick grooming the grounds, Val or Karey prepping for an upcoming event or one of our kids driving around on a golf cart or building a sand castle. Its a true team effort and family affair with our crew, and we can’t wait to meet your crew too!
All the best and safe travels!
Mike, Val, Nick & Karey (and Hunter, Hadley, Ava & Mary Kate)
